A London police officer who rescued a dog found dangling from a fence paid a visit to the recovering canine over the weekend.
Police were flagged down Thursday in the core by a citizen who said they’d seen a dog in distress stuck on a fence, police said.
A witness reported seeing two cruisers rush to the scene at William Street, where a dog chained in a backyard tried to jump the fence and was left hanging by its neck.
Officers performed chest compressions on the dog and revived it, police said, adding it didn’t appear that negligence was involved in the case.
The story of the quick-thinking officers went viral on social media. One of the officers who performed First-Aid on the dog later stopped by for a visit, police said in a weekend update.
“For everyone following this story, one of the officers who performed CPR on the dog the other day stopped in to see him last night, and he’s doing just fine!,” police tweeted along with a photo of the pooch.
